The National Communications Secretariat Kenya Jobs
The National Communications Secretariat, created under Section 84 of the Communications Act 1998, is the policy advisory body to the Government on matters relating to information and communication policy.
The duties of the Secretariat include inter-alia preparation of policy papers, sessional papers, country position papers and legislation on ICTs as well as advising the Government on the adoption of appropriate information and communication technologies.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified Kenyans for the following vacant position in the Secretariat.
ACCOUNTANT
Responsibilities
The accountant will:
1. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
2. establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting end accounting control procedures.
3. Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness, prepare and review budget, revenue expense, payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents.
4. Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.
5. Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff and government agencies.
6. recommend, develop and maintain financial databases, supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the Secretariat’s information system.
Qualification, Knowledge & Experience:
1. University degree in accounting, business, finance, management, economics, or a related field.
2. Professional accounting qualification (CPA(K), ACCA).
3. Knowledge of Kenya Laws and regulations governing the expenditure and accounting of funds.
4. Minimum of 5 years experience with good track record in a busy accounting environment, good knowledge of book keeping, bank reconciliation, debts collection and preparation of management accounts.
5. Proven work ethics that meet strict deadlines, leadership skills, good interpersonal skills and a team player; and excellent communication and ICT skills.
6. Experience in Public Finance will be an added advantage.

SACCO Accountant Job In Kenya
A Nairobi based SACCO with branches countrywide is looking for an experienced qualified person to fill the position of SACCO ACCOUNTANT.
Key Duties.
Key Duties.
- Develop and implement effective financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- To develop and apply effective financial accounting and reporting systems.
- Management of the general and subsidiary ledgers in accordance with internationally accepted accounting and financial reporting principles.
- Prepare and analyze on a regular basis the SACCO’s business plans, budgetary estimates and provide explanations on variances.
- Provide support to all other functions to enhance organizational goals.
- Manage the FOSA operations in line with the current SASRA regulations
- Supervision of accounting staff and any other duty that may be assigned from time to time by the Immediate supervisor.
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance options or CPA II and above.
- Ability to carry out financial analysis, financial projections and budgeting.
- Ability to analyze problems and provide solutions in line with established policies and procedures.
- Superior knowledge and proficiency in computerized accounting operations.
- Outstanding leadership and managerial skills including coaching and training.
- Experience in FOSA operations will be an added advantage.
- Must have worked in a SACCO in a similar or related position for at least 3-5 years, two years of which must be at Supervisory level.
